Julia "Julie" Catherine Taggart

Julia Catherine “Julie” Taggart, 55, of Arcata, CA, formerly from Ashland, MO passed away on February 13, 2025.

 She was born on January 14, 1970, in Columbia, MO to Roger “Rex” Taggart and Ila “Lois” Ashlock. Julie graduated with the class of 1988 from Southern Boone County R-1 High School. After high school she attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO and additionally attended Merrill School of Cosmetology obtaining her cosmetology license. Later on, in 2011 Julie went back to school at ITT-Technical Institute Kansas to pursue and complete a degree in Applied Science in Computer Networking Systems. She was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church in Wilton, MO. 

Julie was fortunate to have two sons, Dakota Ray Taggart (Lisa) of Fulton, MO and Dylan William Bailey (Bethanie) of Portland, MO. Julie had one grandchild, Louise Mae Taggart, all of whom survive. She is also survived by her parents, Rex and Cathy Taggart, Lois and Greg Miller; two brothers, Mitchell Keith Taggart (Melissa) of Ft. Campbell, KY, their three sons, Stephen Mitchell, Rex William and Cash Anderson; and Jacob Ross Taggart (Katie) of Columbia, MO and their two daughters, Charlotte Catherine and Genevieve Claire. Also surviving is one stepsister, Jessica Webb as well as aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, classmates and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Schaefer and Brooxie Ashlock and paternal grandparents, Robert and Ola Mae Taggart.

Funeral services honoring Julie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26. 2025, at Robinson-Yager Funeral Home in Ashland, MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Goshen Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilton, MO.
