Sharon Kay Terry

November 28, 1946 — August 10, 2024

Hartsburg, Missouri

Sharon Kay Terry, age 77, of Hartsburg, entered the gates of glory on August 10, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born to the late Monroe and Bessie (Fletcher) Woods on November 28, 1946, in Jefferson City, Missouri. On July 20, 1972, she married Richard L. Terry in Plant City,Florida.

Known to most as "Nana" she spent her days taking care of everyone. Whether it was an afternoon rocking a baby, a bandaid for a boo boo or a phone call asking for her famous words of wisdom, Nana was always there.

A nurse by profession but a caretaker to all. Sharon graduated nursing school and received her RN degree to find herself walking the halls of Charles E.Still Hospital taking care of infants and drawing straws for who had to round with the doctor on the geriatric ward.

She later left the nursing profession and became "Nana Sharon" to the many, many children she watched in her home.

In her free time she enjoyed sewing, baking, feeding her hummingbirds (No, not with the red dye - she'd say!), listening to gospel music, bird watching, reading, yelling at her alexa, but most of all - loving on her "Kids".

Nana loved to travel. The trips started small with taking the grandkids on backroad drives to conoco for a soda and a candy bar. However, her favorite place was the mountains. She spent many summers traveling with her husband "Papa Richard" to Colorado, Wyoming. They enjoyed visiting Georgia gulch, Grand Lake, and Copper Mountain.

Every Christmas you could enter her home and be surrounded by her hundreds of nutcrackers that she loved displaying and don't be fooled - she knew exactly which ones she had.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Dwayne Bolten (Joy) of Indiana; 6 grandchildren, Lacey Jennings (Brandon Blakemore) of Holts Summit, Jessica Hartman (Kourtney Norris) of Glasgow, Jeffery Fricke (Katlyn) of Macon, Trenton Nichols of Indiana, Nikki Fricke (Abbi) of Vandaila and Haile Fricke (Seth Reynolds) of Fayette and nine great grandchildren and let's be honest - they were her favorite; Weston Jennings, Dallas O'Bryan, Hadley Jennings, Landon O'Bryan, Oakleigh Blakemore, Kaysen Fricke, Wilder Fricke, Liam Blakemore and Grayson Reynolds.

Sharon was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Gail Fricke; a great grandson, River Fricke, two sisters, Betty McKim and Georgia Belmar; and a brother, Tom Woods.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church in Hartsburg.

In the words of Nana "Live your life for Jesus and Pray!"
